Photographing a Legend: Rest in Peace, Merle Haggard

Some of my best memories from childhood was listening to music with my Dad. In a little nook by the fridge, under the cabinets, he had a black cd-radio combo stereo bought from our local Radioshack. About 6pm he'd pull out a CD from behind the kitchen door and load it in. Smoking cigarettes out the window he'd play song after song as I sat on the counter and listened to whatever artist he taught me about that night.

To the Marietta College Class of 2019

I've been photographing for colleges since I first picked up a camera and, honestly, it's the best way to watch students develop. As I photograph all of the events I see certain students repeatedly, and start to watch their college life unfold. I can look back and watch these students grow up, from movie-in to commencement, and everything in between.

Dreaming of a Warmer, (Savannah) Georgia Winter

As the cold finally arrives in Marietta, I think back to my last Christmas in the sunny state of Georgia. I traveled down to visit one of my Brother-in-laws and his family, and spent a week enjoying Savannah in shorts all the way through the holiday season. It was a wonderful change from every other year of snow, and slush, and cold.

Off to the Canoe Races

   2pm, and cold. Really cold. I’m standing in a swimsuit at the edge of a very questionably murky lake holding a camera and watching the opposite shore where canoes are being prepared to be pushed in. As soon as I’ve braced myself to start wading in, it starts to rain.
